A Goofy Movie is one of my top 5 Disney bright movies of all time. Hands down. It’s almost never mentioned by uppity film critics, a lot of people that like Disney usually forget it, and it isn’t exactly a masterpiece like Snow White, but it definately holds its beget. I watched it support when it came out, and I loved it. Remembering this, I saw it sitting on a shelf at the store and decided to give it another shot to spy if it stood the test of time and my being 20 now. It did. If anything, it only got better. Before The Incredibles, there was another Disney film that brought families stop together. And that, was A Goofy Movie, hold it or not. Go ahead and laugh, because I wouldn’t possess it if someone told me that too. Goofy, bringing families closer together? Blasphemy! But it’s not. Goofy is a ample character for this kind of movie about a teenager growing distant from his dad. While it’s a profitable one for families, it’s even better if you’re a single dad with a son. While I’m a month leisurely in saying this, it’s also a very pleasurable Father’s Day movie if you two can sit encourage and luxuriate in “impartial” a cartoon.

We begin out with Max, Goofy’s son. He’s dreaming about a girl he has a crush on, Roxanne. It’s ruined before they kiss, when he starts to turn into his dad. Vast teeth, feet, hands, ears, everything. He wakes up, and panics once more- he’s overslept and he’s almost leisurely for a shrimp surprise at school. His dad busts in and embarasses him already, showing up with a towel wrapped around his body and one on his head too while Max is getting dressed. Not a friendly begin for the last day of school. Max makes it and gets together with PJ and Bobby (a modern character voiced by Pauly Shore. He acts fair like him too) . They throw together a tremendous stage performance where Max imitates Powerline, a pop star in the Goof world, and everyone in the school goes nuts. It comes to a stop when the distinguished interrupts, and the three friends net into enormous misfortune. Unfortunately, he calls each of their parents at a awful time- Pete (PJ’s dad) is giving Goofy a speech about how Max could join a gang or regain into even worse misfortune if Goofy doesn’t commence being a shrimp harder on him. Goofy takes the call from the significant as a shrimp wake up call, and makes plans to go on a stir to a fishing set he and his dad went on ages ago. Well, Max had impressed Roxanne with that onstage risk, and they were going to go to an after-grad party together. The saunter gets in the draw, and he lies to her, saying he’s going to glimpse Powerline live since he knows him. Goofy and Max hit the road to what Goofy thinks is a fun fishing creep and time to bond with his son, but it’s anything but. The two argue, terminate talking to eachother for a period of time, obtain into gigantic misfortune in the woods and in a river, and more. I’m positive every parent with a teenager can represent to most of what goes on here.

Now, even objective barely out of my teenage years, this movie really hits me. How Max treats his dad from time to time made me resent him, but also made me realize that we’ve all done something like that. Leaving in the middle of what’s supposed to be a fun situation because you contemplate it’s uninteresting…you can seek the hurt on Goofy’s face when Max does this. And what makes it wound the viewer is that it’s Goofy- a character who’s always upbeat and satisfied. Watching him accumulate dark actually made me swagger up. What’s worse is when he and Max hurry into a mishap attractive a waterfall. Eventhough I know how it’s going to waste, I wanted Goofy to be alright. Perceive? This is unprejudiced an spellbinding character. But you pick up attatched to him after all he goes through. But now I’m making the movie sound depressing. Aside from a few moments like the ones I’ve mentioned, the movie’s humorous overall, and kids age 11+ will be definite to bag a few laughs out of it. Bigfoot discovering disco music has to be one of these things.

The visual quality didn’t win the best treatment here, but I’m hoping a Platinum Edition is in the works somewhere down the line. There’s essential grain and smudges one the print, and it looks like a slightly cleaned up vhs version. But the movie was made in the mid-late 90’s, so it mild looks graceful worthy animation-wise. No jagged lines here. And the audio’s nice and loud. The Powerline songs at the beginning and ruin are booming all over the station. Some sound effects are a tad calm, like Goofy and Max halt at the underwater-themed hotel, but it’s nothing you’ll mind unless you’re listening for things like this.

Here’s the reason it gets four stars instead of five. While I was surprised when I went to the special features menu, and discovered some that were actually marvelous, there weren’t enough. I remember seeing some view designs for Great Foot and a few other characters diagram help when, and it would’ve been nice to have had them here in some sort of gallery. Also, it would’ve been nice if Disney had given it as equally large extras as some other Gold Classic Classic discs. But what’s here’s tranquil ample. The first one I have to mention is an entire episode of the classic Disney Afternoon cartoon: Goof Troop. It’s the “Calling All Goofs” episode in which a few of Goofy’s relatives are having a reunion. Because Pete screws up Goofy’s car, he can’t go. So instead, Peg (Pete’s sultry wife) has the reunion at their house. Of course, we all know how Pete is around Goofy. How will he handle more than one at the same time? It’s pure chaos. Unfortunately, the transfer to dvd wasn’t kind to the episode, and there are a lot of visual problems here and there (some images jump around instead of smoothly bewitching. Maintain focused on a character when they’re doing something, and you’ll gawk it) . It’s a silly episode smooth, and I was surprised to be laughing at it well over ten years after it first aired. It was nice seeing the whole crew, sans Chainsaw. Next, is the biggest extra of the batch- A Goofy Success Anecdote, running over 40 minutes. It covers how Goofy became a household name. It goes well into his past, and is a must-see for classic Disney fans and animation fans in general. After this is the embarassing A Goofy Movie dvd Storybook. If you remember those books on tape…with books included of Disney movies from the 90’s, that’s what this is…only you view it. There’s the option of having it read to you, in which the narrator sounds like he’s talking to kids with ADD. This is actually worth a laugh, if only for what pictures they chose for each page. The first 3 had me holding my sides (go ahead an’ say I’m immature. I don’t care) . What’s almost as awful is the Disney Mambo No. 5 by Lou Bega. It’s Mambo No. 5…but with some changes for a family audience and a Disney theme. What’s somewhat sick is that he goes over pairings for characters. Like Mickey = Minnie, Donald = Daisy. But then he gets to Pluto, who in turn gets Huey, Louie and Dewy. Unsightly. There’s also a lame trivia game and the usual trailer to round things out.

That’s all there is to it. Fetch A Goofy Movie. Don’t even rent it, honest capture it. We’re never going to rep another one like this. Not from Disney anyway at the rate they’re going.

I watched “A Goofy Movie” tonight when I was babysitting. The kids loved it and I enjoyed it too. This movie contains enough of the itsy-bitsy things to be intelligent to children of all ages…including teens…like me. I don’t assume I’ve seen a better Disney movie. This one has to be my faveorite. The music was first-rate for people of all ages and I have been searching the internet for the soundtrack. It’s not every day that you gawk a teenager rave about PG movie. Gracious Job Disney!

Play Dirty is an safe WWII movie site in Africa that is in the mold of Tobruk and The Rat Patrol. British Colonel Masters is head of a less than elite group of commandos who has approach under the wrath of his superiors. With one last chance to attach his skin, Masters organizes a raid deep late German lines to blow up a crucial German fuel depot. But fragment of the agreement of the mission is that a British officer or engineer with some knowledge on the subject lead Masters’ commandos. Cue Captain Douglas, who immediately clashes with his second in notify, Capt. Cyril Leech. Along with six convict-commandos (assume Dirty Dozen), Douglas and Leech residence across the African desert to blow up the fuel depot. They go up against murdering gypsies, horrific conditions, patrolling Germans, each other, and even their commanders abet at headquarters. The movie builds slowly, but peaceful bewitching, to a climax that has to be one of the biggest surprise/shocks ever made. You won’t be disappointed. As well, plenty of tense, inspiring action scenes, comely cinematography, and that incredible ending earn for a colossal WWII adventure.

In a subdued but serene very strong performance, Michael Caine plays Capt. Douglas, the unwilling leader of the group of convict commandos trying to blow up the crucial German fuel depot. He clashes with Capt. Cyril Leech(a mammoth portion for Nigel Davenport) the possible double agent who may be working for the Germans as well. The tension over enlighten and strategy between Caine and Davenport drives the movie’s space and is what makes the movie all gain together. Nigel Green, Harry Andrews and Patrick Jordan are superb in exiguous parts as the different level of commanders who have control over the mission. Green is especially marvelous as Col. Masters. The rest of the convict-commandos, who don’t have worthy to do in the diagram of lines, include Aly Ben Ayed as Sadok, Enrique Avila as Kafkarides, Mohsen Ben Abdallah and Mohammed Kouka as Hassan and Assine, the two homosexual desert guides, Takis Emmanuel as Kostos Manou, and Scott Miller as Boudesh. The special features, if there are any, for the upcoming dvd release, April 27th, haven’t been released, but I’d be ecstatic to unprejudiced catch widescreen presentation and a trailer. Of course, I’d treasure to ogle some interviews with Caine, but that’s probably wishful thinking. So for a relatively minute known WWII action movie with expansive performances from Caine and Davenport along with one of the best shocker endings ever, check out Play Dirty!

This film was released in 1968. Michael Caine is an oil company executive in civvy street who has been commisioned only to handle fuel deliveries at ports in N. Africa in WWII. If you liked the Dirty Dozen you will esteem this film. This film is precise. The “officers” are gargantuan character actors you have seen in many British films. The uniforms, weapons and equipment are right. Scenes of the desert are so genuine you feel the heat. The mission is precise. The ending is a stunner. This film was made in Panavision, contemplate it in that mode.

Like many people who have seen this film, I saw it when I was a kid in the early 1980s on HBO. The location revolves around a young school teacher and the children of various ages that she teaches in a schoolhouse in Australia. The teacher and the children are kidnapped by men wearing masks who are planning on holding their victims for a hefty ransom and perhaps a microscopic “fun” with the teacher and the eldest girl. The movie is suspenseful and corpulent of action as the victims dash from one holding region to another until the slay when they capture a stand, gain a fortress, and remove things into their beget hands.

Scenes from this movie have stuck with me my whole life. I had nightmares for weeks about the masked bandits coming after me and for awhile I could never perceive at a Daffy Duck cloak the same again. I also vividly remember the students and teacher making a last stand at the outmoded cave where they made their fortress. I was always impressed by how crafty those group of kids were and always hoped I could be as cunning in a similar plot.

This is a immense movie. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to acquire. It’s rather rare on video, video stores impartial don’t carry it (I’ve looked in over 20 different ones and not one carries it), and I search the cable guides weekly but haven’t seen it listed since around 1990. Hopefully, the elegant folks at HBO will wise up and re-release this film on VHS and DVD soon.

I first saw this movie on cable TV (I’m splendid determined) about 7 or 8 years ago! I was most likely in the 4th or 5th grade. It was absolutely handsome and created all kinds of suspense in my mind. Was the young woman and her students going to die or we’re they along for a putrid joy slither? I have been looking for this movie for the 7 or 8 years since I’ve seen it. Until about 2 weeks ago, a friend has enlightened me with the title of this movie!! I was asking all sorts of people about it and describing all that I had remembered, but didn’t even know the title! WELL, IF YOU WANT A Grand MOVIE TO Sight, THIS IS THE ONE! I hope to GOD, it gets re-released again….can we email the distributer? What’s their name? Thanks……

Quite an astonishing film, this, by Juraj Herz. A kind of allegory of Nazism, nominally spot during the Second World War, about an eccentric cremator (hypnotically played by Rudolf Hrusínský) who gradually becomes more and more megalomaniacal as the sage proceeds, shot with deliberately expressionist techniques. It convincingly shows how people were able to create themselves own in ideas of superiority and racial purity. Echoes of Polanski’s ‘Repulsion’ are hard to resist, as well as comparisons with David Lynch, who you might imagine being influenced by it … The obedient U.K. DVD (Second Bustle) has a nice microscopic intro by the Quay Brothers. This review is based on my viewing of the U.K. Second Hurry DVD.

This uncommon, smooth, unnerving Czech movie is not for the faint of heart. It’s not for those who mind some dumb stretches, either. Composed, there is a masterful, upsetting, dim, grisly and crazy-as-a-loon ending that brings the movie help sharply into focus

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Cremator! Click Here

Kopfrkingl is the director of the town’s only crematorium, a business his father started 40 years earlier. The area is Czechoslovakia objective before WWII. Nazis and their Czech collaborators are soon to recall over. Kopfrkingl is a genuine man, a bit tubby, in early middle age who is dedicated to the services he provides. He thinks of his crematorium almost as a temple. He’s married to the woman he met at the panther cage in the zoo. He has two children. He dotes on them all. He has an elderly Jewish doctor check his blood every month to manufacture distinct, he says, that he has caught nothing from his corpses. He’s probably more paralyzed about catching something from his celebrated prostitute he visits every month. He is teaching a young, unique assistant the procedures of the crematorium. We perceive all this in the first twelve minutes of the movie…and if these first twelve minutes of Spalovac Mrtvol (The Cremator) don’t recall you, then you’re no connoisseur of the unique and unsettling. For that matter, if Rudolf Hrusinsky’s portrayal of Kopfrkingl doesn’t acquire you with his aloof convey and solicitude, then you’re no connoisseur of uncommon and unsettling characters.

“Cremation is humane,” Kopfrkingl tells his 14-year-old son, Mili, his 16-year-old-daughter, Zina, and us, “It rids people of the awe of death. Dear children, do not panic cremation.” Death is honest the liberation of the soul. The purity of cremation brings purity to the soul. Only 75 minutes in the oven and the cremator has returned dust to dust, and without the messiness that the other design guarantees. It will be only a matter of time before Kopfrkingl’s Czech friends with pure German blood expose him that a recent order is needed to bring purity and rectitude. His crematorium will give his life its occupy purpose and purity that was meant to be. An hour into the movie we learn how quiet and plain he is.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Cremator! Click Here

Since Kopfrkingl is, of course, as crazy as a loon…a detached, soothing loon. He combs a corpse’s hair, then without a view combs his maintain hair with the same comb. Kopfrkingl’s calmness comes from the certitude that what he does serves a salubrious purpose. There is tenderness but without compassion, morals but without morality, appreciate but without commitment, concept but with nothing but derangement. Did I mention…his wife had a Jewish grandmother and his children are now classified as section Jews? To be cleansed, we all must die. “Frost burns the flowers’ flush cheeks, and the Angel of Death takes his toll.”

The Cremator is not at all a gloomy comedy. It’s more an ironic funeral dirge. Once we accumulate the point that the director, Juraj Herz, sets up for us, there’s not grand more to create. What’s left is to contemplate how things play out. An hour into the movie we realize things will not play out well for almost anyone. In a queer and perhaps unplanned reversal of symbolism, the Nazi slaughter of Jews enthralling the efficient employ of crematoriums becomes a metaphor for Kopfrkingl’s looniness. Shouldn’t it be the other plan around? By the ruin of the movie, it is. Give this movie a chance and I believe you’ll be rewarded.

This version is lawful to the book and the acting is kindly. The novel’s complexities are brought out by the actors in subtle ways. Kate Beckinsale was the perfect choice for Emma because she played her duel layers so wonderfully. Beckinsale played Emma’s intelligence against her lack of knowledge of the world, without being listless. She showed that Emma view she was respectable and had to learn that someone’s foul in society does not produce them a better person. Effect Strong is big as Mr. Knightley. He plays it serious and heartfelt. Strong brought out Knightley’s strong beliefs and feelings with grace. Everyone else was also cast perfectly. The sage was very genuine to the new. Emma is amusing, but really a serious modern about women’s residence in society. This version showed all these conplexities with ease and grace. It was beautifully shot and directed. This is truly an adaptation to be proud of and lots of fun to observe over and over. Emma is my second approved Austen unique on unhurried Persuasion. I am delighted Austen’s less accepted works had such broad adaptations. Emma got the moral treatment here concidering it was Austen’s longest unique… I am gay to say that enough people liked it to accomplish this expansive adaptation of her work.

This is a production which is palatable to glimpse if not entirely memorable after the fact. I personally deem Kate Beckinsale makes the perfect Emma. (I rep it hard to imagine Gwyneth Paltrow in the same role, but I’m spellbinding to recognize that production as well.) Raymond Coulthard is also perfectly cast as Frank Churchill, the quintessential Jane Austen erroneous young cad (and I mean that as a compliment!) . Mr Knightley, the eventual romantic interest for Emma, is played by Tag Strong, who does a very favorable job in the role although I must admit I had disaster seeing him as a romantic lead. Samantha Morton is very spirited as Emma’s stunned friend, Harriet.

All in all, I give this production four stars. Although it is nowhere reach as compelling as the Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth, or the Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson, it’s calm a well done film adaptation of a Jane Austen book – and that’s not easy. :)
