This is your better than average Commando flick. Based on the historic raid on St. Nazaire the film attempts to re-construct somewhat loosely the events surrounding this raid. I would say it is certainly several cuts above your Guns of Navaronne stunning which is pure fantasy. This film is a no-nonsense affair, with 92 mins. of pure planning and action. This is not a humdrum opinion. The planning and character clashes leading up to the precise raid sustain the interest. The inter-service rivalry that distress many British combined operations early in the war is nicely handled. The Commando training and combat sequences are realistic and beleiveable. Above all this is a realistic film. Nothing is amazing here. St. Nazzaire (Le Clair) was a German submarine pen as opposed to surface ships port. Viewers expend to hi-tech Hollywood fare today may secure the special affects somewhat ameturish, but the historical intent is there, which is not often the case with more fresh films. All in all a worthwhile and lively film to inspect providing a estimable inspect for British Commando operations during the earlier fragment of the War. Recommended

This DVD is a familiar bare-bones MGM package, thrown together for a bargain label. What we win is a nicely restored 1.66:1 widescreen version of the movie with a serviceable 2.0 Mono sound mix. Special features include subtitles and the fresh theatrical trailer. Nothing to write home about, but I doubt the film has ever looked or sounded this well-behaved, and it’s nice to glance MGM releasing older, lesser-known titles such as this.

(my fill review from www.angelfire.com/film/eurowar)
Paul Wendkos is an average director at best, but has the ability to turn a potentially unpleasant movie into a satisfying action flick. “Attack on the Iron Flee” is yet another low-budget entry in a series from Oakmont Production, and although it presents nothing original, but holds attention so well that the clichés are easy to overlook.
John C. Champion’s script is a fictional takeoff on a staunch WWII event, great like his earlier and powerful worse “Submarine X-1″. This time, the anecdote is based on Mountbatten’s raid on the dry dock at St. Nazaire, in which a ship laden with explosives crashed into the repair dock and destroyed well-known German repair facilities.
Lloyd Bridges (“A Poke in the Sun”) plays Major Wilson (a takeoff on Lord Mountbatten), who’s first commando mission in France turns into a shambles. But he is given a second chance when he plans an even riskier operation to raze the German repair dock at LeClair (Ste-Nazaire) . The only spot is that Captain Franklin (Andrew Keir, “Lion of the Desert”) is opposed to the mission from the launch, and the two must cooperate as the mission is a joint Army-Navy operation.
This film is really a mixed bag. What’s proper is really, really valid and what’s dreadful is really, really dreadful. Lloyd Bridges gives a trusty performance as Major Wilson, but his character isn’t developed as mighty as I would have liked. We’re treated two a two-dimensional hero who doesn’t have any weaknesses; he brings to mind John Wayne’s Colonel Kirby of “The Green Berets”. His conflict with Franklin is the core of the movie and provides enough tension that the German enemies aren’t needed until the final act.
The German characters are disappointing. We’re treated to some very shallow characterizations which bring to mind the worst excesses of “Hogan’s Heroes”. The officers sit and behold dirty movies and become sated on dazzling wood and liquor while their subordinates bring in urgent reports of an approaching enemy ship. This is very depressed, because both George Mikell and Walter Gotell are very superior German actors who have had very satisfactory roles in the past – chiefly, “The Guns of Navarone”, where they acted together in 1961. This really let me down. It would have been wiser to exclude German characters altogether and dwell on the commandos some more.
The action sequences are withheld until the final 20 minutes or so of the film and range from well-crafted to silly. Scenes of British commandos dashing about in alleyways and dockyards are excellently staged and well-shot, even if they’re very generic. The scenes of British minesweeper in the bay, however, feature some of the worst dinky work of the period. It’s definite that this feature had a obscene budget, because they aren’t many extras or realistic explosions in the entire film.
Wendkos manages to hold things provocative by spicy his camera fluidly and often shooting from high or rude angles, giving the audience a fresh perspective on the dialogue or action. The sets are all-top notch and the exteriors are very well-decorated. The German dockyard is vast and really has a unusual, authentic feel to it and the various British war offices are equally believable.
“Attack on the Iron Flee” is nothing more than a routine, satisfying 90-minute film. There is nothing original and new about it, but some gorgeous acting and fleet breeze withhold it absorbing.

The Missing years should have remained MISSING. The one share that really bothers me in the novel, at the time of Dane’s death Meggie says to Ralph, “Do you consider I could ever go support to Luke or any other man after you.” The meaning of course being that he should have known Dane was his. The missing years completely blows the whole meaning of the line, along with it the premise of the demonstrate. The acting was edifying, and all in all well done except for Julia Blake who played Fee Cleary. I don’t contemplate she did justice to the character created by Jean Simmons whose presence was sorely missed. Amanda Donohoe did a titanic job. She’s a elegant actor. Richard Chamberlain was his usual charming and talented actor he has always been. Simon Westaway, who played Luke, did a ravishing job as well. The anecdote itself was lacking all the scheme around. The only decent fragment was when they made esteem. Yet, another inconsistency. When he goes abet to her years later, Meggie says, and I paraphrase “It’s not been that long honest 20 years since I’ve seen you.” There are fair all sorts of inconsistencys through out the whole movie. Henry Mancini’s music was also missed. All in all a Dreadful characterize. I would have given this film a 1/2 a star or zero had they been available choices. If you liked or even loved the new you’ll be greatly disappointed. Use your money for the loyal deal and unbiased imagine what might have been, instead of this very awful attempt to recapture the EXCELLENCE of the first one. Possess me anything you consider up and will be far better than this movie. I’ll say it again; except for Julia Blake who played the Fee character the acting was very respectable, including Olivia Burnette who played Justine O’Neill, another resplendent actor. DON’T Kill YOUR TIME AND MONEY!
I can sympathize with TV producers who wish to build “prequels” or “sequels” to Mini Series but not “in betweeners”. In this film Ralph de Bricassart (played again by Richard Chamberlain) comes wait on to visit Meggie (now played by Amanda Donohoe) while Justine and Dane are growing up (something that never happened in the current) . She also gets a visit from Luke (who also never resurfaces in the book except in a letter) years after she told him off. Meggie and Ralph are as distant as they were before Matlock Island in it, making the first “19 years later scenes” irrelevant (even before Ralph helps Dane relate Meggie he wants to enter the priesthood) . There is also a plot where Justine discusses Ralph with Dane though they don’t search for him, and Justine hints that Meggie must have fancied him, and the like which again ruins the book text/sciptwriting from the forementioned “19 years later segment”. Since the fresh series is hitting DVD next week, and they decided not to include this (being the DVD is gonna sell a lot less expensive than the VHS copy), you are powerful better off buying it (the DVD of the novel that is) . If you really wanna know what happened in the time between Dane’s birth on Drogheda, and the “19 years later” segment that comes next in the Current, then read the book, there is more tale there, none of which is covered by this very “brief” miniseries. If THIS in betweener ever hits DVD, I will debate ALL Pros and Cons before buying it.

Season 7 takes status after the drool-worthy ending to the Cell games in which Gohan obliterates Cell with his one-handed Kamehameha wave.

Now a few years later Gohan is ready to inaugurate High School which means no more home school from Chi Chi.
However, directly before this Goku takes share in a filler martial arts tournament from beyond the grave and we acquire to survey Frieza, King Wintry, The Ginyu Force and even Cell again one more time. The final battle of the tournament is Goku (duh) vs. Pikkon under supervision of the Vast Kai. This section honestly has nothing to do with the overall space of the series and was fair a filler portion before the next arc starts.

Back to Gohan (and the loyal fable) . Gohan is on his design to school, sees a robbery, and transforms to a SSJ to beat his enemies in a flash.
Now the whole town is going on about the “Gold Fighter”. So, in order to way attention from his original superhero Gohan creates another superhero with a disguise so people won’t know its him. He creates probably the most godawful yet smart hilarious costume and character. He calls himself the “Stout Saiyaman” and does small dances to intimidate the enemy.
If somebody who has never watched DBZ sees these episodes as their introduction into the series they probably would turn away immediately, but contain me this fragment is not THAT awful. I would honestly rather explore this share of the series 5 times in a row than sit through GT again.
Gohan goes to meet Videl, daughter of Hercule, at school and befriends her. She eventually discovers his just identity and in order to prevent blackmail Gohan teaches her how to soar. Goten and Trunks also conclude SSJ while training.
Season 7 might dwell into the World Martial Arts Tournament that takes site next, but probably not very far if it does. Basically mid arrangement through the tournament is when the next Saga starts and we learn of the modern deadly threat to the world. Majin Buu.
Season 7 is an well-known section of the DBZ collection seeing as how it ties the slay of the Cell Saga and beginning of the Buu saga together. The episodes may be most non-serious of the series, but they are there for a reason.
If you’ve been collecting from Season One be determined to consume up your copy when its released.
This isn’t supposed to be released until next week as of my writing this but i stumbled across a copy that must have shipped early and made it to the shelves at my local walmart earlier tonight. I was one of the guys who grew into their adolescence watching this point to and it filled the void that pokemon left when it became considered to juvenile after sixth grade.
This season contains the following 25 episodes:
195 Warriors of the Dead- Goku meets Mammoth Kai and runs into Cell & Frieza Again

217 A Shaded and Secret Power- Videl fights a man stronger than expected

219 Identities Revealed- Gohan takes the ring but blows his disguise
220 Energy Drain- Two mystery men have a surprise for Gohan which will lead us towards the Babadi, Majin Buu saga.
These episodes are mostly considered filler that lead into the final major villain of Dragon Ball Z and all the Majin Buu saga’s. I however indulge in seeing Gohan impartial be Gohan for a bit before getting help into the action and the first few episodes are Goku entering a tournament in the after life which are at the least bright if not a divulge of what we’ve already seen. I remember liking how they assume Videl’s character from someone i didn’t like at all and made her likeable as episodes went on with the interaction between she and Gohan, it reminds me of Dragon Ball’s earlier episodes and Chi-Chi being reintroduced towards the waste.
I personally devour these episodes but by far my approved season will always be the cell games saga, maybe because of the time of my life they aired (i was the same age Gohan is at) or the subject’s they covered and area’s they ventured, they will always be my well-liked and the sixth season site was the best out of all of them as far as the episodes go. it may be that after that season I began feeling too used for DBZ but I liked where that saga left off on a high point and in a edifying location.
However, I accumulate the whole series delectable and these episodes are no different, actually I’m finding myself enjoying them now almost more than when they originally aired because the aniticipation that extinct to conclude with me during episodes to watch where they were going and when and what the next battle would be is gone now and i can actually pay attention to the slower parts focusing on other areas besides the fighting.
The box and place itself is the same as always with the booklet and obviously the controversial cropped image. The cropping doesn’t bother me grand and never has and after buying all the sets so far in I don’t gawk a reason to engage them again without the cropping because for me it won’t effect that grand a disagreement. I hope for some of you that it does matter that someday they release these in novel format but they are more than worthy enough for me. Some shots you view the cropping but admtittedly it does obtain others more cinematic or enhanced.
I always delight in the preview of the next saga’s on the last disc and hopefully the next season will arrive out as hasty as this one did so we can effect up this series and I can relive all my childhood memories before I fetch too venerable.

All through the beginning of this series I can understand indecent ratings or reviews and I’m talking about around 4 stars. To me only a few of the episodes in Fullmetal Alchemist didn’t live up to the other episodes, somewhere in mid series but that’s it, and they weren’t dreadful they honest weren’t as apt as the others. When I order you that the episodes towards the ruin are genius I’m not playin around. The episodes that kill Fullmetal are absolutley determined to build this present a complete classic work of art if the beginning and middle already didn’t. It’s appealing, breathtaking, and will at all cost do anything to accomplish these upcoming DVD releases inspiring and unpredictable for it’s fans.

In 11 there is meetings for everyone, Kimbley and Scar meet up in Lior, Ed is stammer to meet up with Al in Lior also. Impartial because you have plans to do one thing doesn’t mean they won’t change. The brothers are unexpectedly confronted by a couple of deadly sins named Wrath and Sloth who clames she is Juliet Douglas but her vague memory tells her different and her engaging looks remind the Elric brothers of someone terminate and I mean very cessation to them. Not only do the brothers have to meet up with one fragment of their past they’re confronted by another and both pieces seems as equally large. If your wondering about the front cloak and why Al looks like that you’ll derive out how he got those wintry tattoos all over his body, he went to Scar’s parlor to net them done. The Elric’s bros. …that this is one of, if not the, best volume yet. Steal it from me; I’ve seen the entire series (and will peruse the movie when I occupy it on DVD September 12) that if there were ever any volumes in the FMA series that are must-haves, it would be Volumes 11 – 13.
If you mediate that, “Oh, you’re impartial a child. This is probably a petite cartoon for kids…” YOU ARE Nefarious. I am barely allowed to witness this expose even though it is my popular at the time. The rating for all of these episodes is TV-14 and should not be watched by the faint of heart. I would say that from the last episode in Volume 10 – the LAST EPISODE (Volume thirteen, third episode) it is rated for blood, violence, language, utilize of alchohol and tobacco, and maybe even suggestive themes.
I don’t say that it’s not only a kid indicate objective because it has all of that stuff in it, I’m saying that because my PARENTS even like this point to. In fact, my dad is anxiously waiting for the movie to reach out! (leer what I’m saying? ) This explain is for everyone who can stand watching it, or if they can but they’re even allowed to…

This is the ONLY single disc release that is not being included on the Complete Season box sets being released by the same company. All of the 2-hour specials, etc. being released individually are also included on the box sets, but this pilot episode is not. So, if you are a Puny House completist, win this disc to add to your box area collection.
I grew up watching the repeats of “Petite House On The Prairie” on TBS however I have never seen the pilot movie. I don’t judge it was establish into syndication? “Itsy-bitsy House On The Prairie” premiered years before I was born, suffice it to say it has been one of my current television shows because it is a rare combination of both entertainment and family values. In fact, I cannot consider of any television reveal that is as beloved as this fantastic series.

The pilot movie introduces the Ingalls family for the first time. The characters aren’t as polished or well-rounded as they are in the TV series. The pilot also introduces their longtime family friend Mr. Edwards.
It starts out by telling the tale of why they left their current home (and relatives) . Charles finds a nice fragment of land and sets up his place for his family. It is at this time that they meet Edwards who helped in the construction of their current home.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Little House on the Prairie – The Pilot! Click Here
Also included in this movie is a very touching Christmas scene (that was repeated in subsequent “flashback” “Limited House” episodes) where the Ingallses celebrate their first Christmas in their unusual home. Mr. Edwards even plays Santa by surprising the entire family with his cheer and gifts.
Keep in mind that this is not dwelling in the town of Walnut Grove (where the TV series took location) . In the pilot movie they lived in a different spot which was even more remote with no town and no neighbors to lisp of (except the Native Americans who wait on the Ingallses) .
Tragedy strikes when their log house catches on fire. I belief it would all be burned down, however they were blessed with a dazzling rainstorm which saved their home and barn.
But their happiness is short-lived when the government tells Charles that they have to vacate. The land is not for them; so they pack up their belongings and say good-bye to Mr. Edwards and go on their scheme to gain a recent home.
The movie ends with the Ingalls family riding away. This somewhat loosely explains how they came to their original town (Walnut Grove) in the TV series.
Unfortunately, television these days doesn’t even reach end to the high standards that Michael Landon spot forth on “Minute House On The Prairie.” This is a fabulous pilot and a incredible TV series!
